Service to All

Welcome to the Official Website of the Beta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.  I am proud to represent over 200 women in the Greensboro area focused on service, scholarly achievement, professional excellence, mentoring, and community engagement.

Since 1934 our chapter has served the citizens of Greensboro, and our commitment continues as we implement the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. International target programs in our area. You will see the members of our chapter striving for excellence in everything we do. Watch us throughout 2018-2019 as we sponsor our successful Cotillion program, co-sponsor our First Family Fun Run, volunteer for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, and mentor young people in our ASCEND program. You will see in the coming months our engagement on many fronts as we advocate for access to educational opportunities, promote healthy living, support local families, act as good stewards of our environment, and bring awareness to global issues that impact every community.

Our chapter is primed and ready for service and we hope to partner with local businesses and nonprofits, those in faith communities, and with our local colleges and universities to create a nurturing and thriving community for all our neighbors.  We understand that partnerships heighten our impact, and are critical to the successful implementation of our service strategy.

You are welcome to get to know us better by viewing the contents of our website. We hope that you find interesting information about our impact on the City of Greensboro. Return to our website throughout the year to receive information about our exciting community programs.  Please feel free to contact us at bioaka1934@gmail.com if you have questions about our chapter.

With warm regards,

Channelle D. James, Ph.D.
